Zip-Front Scrub Jackets
A zip front joins the jacket continuously and lets you set the opening from the top. The useful differences come next: collar height, hem shape, pocket access and the fabric around the zipper.

Check the front while sitting
A closed zipper can fold or bow when you sit. Try the garment in that position and see whether opening the zip slightly gives the adjustment you want. Do not assume a two-way zipper unless the specific model documents it.
Compare collar height with your underscrub and any lanyard you wear. A stand collar, rib-knit bomber collar and round neckline can share a zip front while feeling quite different. Our snap-versus-zip field note covers the opening decision; the model pages cover the rest.
Decide whether you need an opening at the lower hem
Some zippers open from the top only; documented two-way zippers also let the wearer adjust the lower front. koi Clarity 445 and Athena 478 both document a two-way front. Their shared fastening therefore does not decide that comparison: the thumbhole and pocket differences do. Use Clarity versus Athena for that narrower choice.
A lower opening can change how the front lies when seated, but it cannot supply missing shoulder or upper-arm room. Check the actual zipper specification instead of reading a second slider into a listing photo. If a front appears to catch or refuses to align, consult the fastener-care guide before forcing it. An operating instruction and a fit recommendation solve different problems.
Compare the fabric beside the zip
The Barco Arena BOW896 is a knit construction with a 23-inch center-back length in small. Cherokee Core Stretch 4315 is a cotton-rich blend with its own cut and published length. Wink fleece 8209 changes the layer category again. A zipper gives these garments a common opening, but not a common drape, thickness or garment-care instruction.
Compare the zip-front jackets below by closure, storage and fit. If you have not chosen a fastening yet, the snap-versus-zip decision explains that choice. If you already know you want a zip, the named-model comparisons below should help you eliminate unsuitable collars, hems and pocket arrangements before comparing colors.
Check your shortlist with the three-model comparison, then use the fit checklist before ordering.
