Start with the room you work in
Use the coldest regular part of your shift as the starting point, then consider how often you move into warmer spaces. A jacket left on a chair for most of the day is doing a different job from one worn throughout rounds. We have not tested this fleece against other jackets, so warmth preferences should guide a try-on rather than a promised temperature rating.
Useful details around the neckline
The full zip finishes with a chin guard. Carhartt also lists a shoulder badge loop, front side-entry storage, hidden phone storage and a zipped chest pocket. The fabric has a water-repellent treatment, but that is not a reason to treat the garment as protective clinical equipment. Confirm which layers your workplace permits and select any required protective clothing separately.
Make room for the sleeve underneath
Try this jacket over the actual scrub top and undershirt combination you use in colder months. Bend both elbows fully and reach across your body; bunching at the forearm may matter more than spare room at the waist. If you regularly remove it, check that the sleeves slide off without pulling up your undershirt. Compare Landau LJ700 when you want a shaped zip jacket with knit mobility panels, and C82410 when you prefer a vented lightweight design.
