A place for the stethoscope
The standout detail is the internal stethoscope pocket. Before ordering, consider whether you would actually move your instrument there when removing the jacket. Keeping essential equipment in an outer layer creates a small handover task every time that layer comes off. A pocket can be useful without being the right home for every tool you carry.
Ventilation changes the comparison
Carhartt specifies a mesh-lined opening across the back yoke, a front zip, knit cuffs and hem, and a polyester-spandex body. Those features suggest a lighter layering role; we have not measured its warmth or airflow. The women’s bonded fleece jacket is the more relevant comparison when insulation is the reason for buying. Decide which problem you are solving before choosing by pocket count.
Check the hem with your uniform
Try a seated position with the jacket fully closed and the pockets lightly loaded. Check whether the hem catches on your scrub top, whether the chest storage pulls across the bust, and whether you can reach forward without dragging the back upward. A good standing fit can hide those issues. If you prefer a jacket that hangs straighter below the waist, compare a conventional warm-up before committing to this shape. Repeat the reach test with your usual identification badge attached.
