Choose the exterior for the actual journey
Wink describes the outer fabric as water-resistant and the backing as fleece. That is a reason to inspect it for short transitions outdoors, not evidence of a waterproof membrane, sealed seams or a weather rating. If exposure to sustained rain drives your purchase, look for equipment with those explicit specifications. For a mostly indoor shift, ask whether this added construction is what you want or whether a simpler woven warm-up would be more comfortable.
The back hem changes how it sits
The official medium measurements put the back two and a half inches below the front. Compare both measurements with your favorite jacket; checking only the shorter front can hide a proportion you will notice when seated. Close the high neckline and turn your head during the fit check. Adjust each cuff over the layer you will actually wear, then reach forward to see whether the sleeve pulls or the fastener sits awkwardly.
Separate pocket security from pocket count
The 8509 has two zip front pockets and two top-loading pockets. Choose which items need closure rather than assuming all four spaces offer the same security. The fleece 8209 is the most direct alternative when warmth is the aim and you do not need this shell construction. Neither model has been temperature-tested by us.
