Barco gives a 23-inch center-back reference for small. Compare that measurement with the scrub top underneath, particularly if you prefer the two hems to align. A shorter jacket may leave more of the top visible; whether that looks right depends on your chosen uniform combination. Check the back while seated as well as standing.
Try the sleeves both ways
The cuffs include thumbholes, which deserve their own fit check. First try the sleeve without using the opening, then try it with your thumb through it. If the second position pulls at the shoulder or feels tight across the hand, reconsider the fit. Confirm that the way you intend to wear the sleeves suits your workplace clothing rules.

The waist storage is described as kangaroo style, with two pockets in total. Plan where your essentials will go before selecting a jacket with fewer compartments. If you need separate enclosed storage for small loose items, compare the Venture’s pocket arrangement. Avoid assuming that a pocket count tells you the depth, opening width or carrying capacity.
Keep the knit comparison specific
Arena’s stated composition is 80% recycled polyester and 20% spandex. The label identifies the material, but does not tell you how it will feel over your own layers. During a try-on, close the front, reach across your body and check whether the hem stays where you want it. Follow the supplied garment label when washing and drying.
