Plan your eight-pocket layout
FIGS divides storage among concealed zip hand pockets, front drop pockets, interior compartments and a dedicated Rene Pocket for a stethoscope. Before choosing it for the pocket count, decide which items you actually need on your jacket. Check access with the front closed and make sure the intended contents do not pull the garment out of shape.
Learn the two-way zipper before a shift
This model has a two-way front fastening. FIGS explains that the pull must lie fully upright against the zipper tape to engage its semi-automatic lock. Practice fastening and adjusting it during your try-on rather than discovering the mechanism at work. A two-way zipper is useful only if you are comfortable operating both sliders.
Check sleeve reach and the shaped hem
Try reaching forward with the thumbholes unused and then in use. The latter position should not draw the sleeve tight across your arm. Look at the back hem while seated, especially if you prefer more coverage over your scrub top. The published description does not give a center-back measurement, so compare the actual garment or request one.
Keep the version and care instructions together
The shell is listed as 78% polyester and 22% spandex. Confirm that the product selected is the full women’s ContourKnit rather than the cropped women’s jacket or men’s style. Keep a record of the version when ordering a replacement. FIGS advises cold washing inside out and low-temperature tumble drying; follow the label on the garment received.
